Tanya Dempsey is a financing professional who has more than 15 years’ experience. As a principal, owner and co-CEO for CSG Advisors, Tanya has led the way in affordable housing transactions.  Along with her Co-Ceo, Nicole Graham, the two have worked together on a number of repositioning plans for Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Sacramento and Chicago and launched a section 3 program that helped new businesses with grants, social media and creating a pitch.

Ms. Dempsey is highly skilled in a multitude of positions including: Strategic & Long-Term Planning, Real Estate Transactions, Financial Impact of Operations and Management, Development Advising & Transaction Services. Specifically, Tanya has advised on more than $50 million in affordable housing financings. These transactions include 4% Tax Credit Financing coupled with RAD vouchers & other soft funds. In total, Tanya has generated over $20 million in developer fees for her public housing clients. [TSD1] Since 2015, Ms. Dempsey has closed almost 50 projects and approximately 5,500 units with CSG.

Prior to joining CSG Advisors, Tanya served as the Senior Director of Strategy and Program Development and Director of Budget and Financial Planning for the New York City Housing Authority.  While there, Tanya helped manage portions of NYCHA’s historic “federalization” project – one of the largest tax credit transactions in the country and was the first, and youngest female budget director.  Because of this experience, Tanya, while at CSG, served as Interim Chief Financial Officer for the Indianapolis Housing Agency and helped reduce expenses at many agencies across the county including Cambridge, Philadelphia, Minneapolis & Phoenix. Tanya has been a moderator, speaker, and host of many conferences nationwide, discussing not only, her work related to affordable housing but also women’s issues.

Tanya received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies from Denison University, and a Master of Public Policy degree from American University. Tanya lives in New York with her husband, two kids and dog, Enzo Ferrari!
